H a p p y F r i d a y !!!

I am so excited, I get to celebrate with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend. They are driving in tomorrow. I still need to grocery shopping. ARGHH!!! What else, I am also finishing up a few pieces to send off to FolkWorks Gallery in Evanston, IL. I will mail those out tomorrow. I will post photos on Tuesday. FolkWorks will be hosting there 17th Anniversary Cheers for America Show starting on Friday June 1st, so if you are in the area stop in and visit with them and check out some great folk art pieces. I have a secret to share. I just love, love, love finding treasures. Especially those that are sweet and unique. I frequently visit several thrift stores in my area. I think all the employees know me by now(l0l). I found this cute Japanese mask. I plan on displaying it somewhere. Not sure yet. Check out this card; I got it for only .50 cents. I scored another typewriter. This one I will use the keys for sure to create something. The umbrella was also sweet. The photos don't show the great pastel colors. The doll was only $1.99 and a bit dirty, but I will clean her up. On her back was a date of 1960. I am quite sure someone made her as a gift or something, but I think she is sweet. I know these aren't the best photos but they will do for now. If anyone can recommend a good camera that takes great closeup shots please let me know. Be patient with me. I am still learning the ropes. I will get better with time.

I also wanted to tell you all about this great blog I found online today. Not sure how I got to it, but I found it. You know how much I adore unique hand bags and totes. Well, this blog is way cool to me. jujulovespolkadots.typepad.com her bags are fun and festive. Her blog also had great links to Japanese fabrics and other supplies. I also found a blog called u-handbag.typepad.com You have to check them out.
